STUDENT WORKS PAINTING METHOD

For most color changes with neutral, non-vibrant colors the painters will be able to cover the old color in 2 (sometimes 3) coats of a high quality interior paint. Expectations and price options will be explained during your free estimate with Duncan Ross.

Depending on the color, my painters may have to prime the surface first to return it to a neutral color. The primer might contain a few drops of the chosen color to tint it in that color's favour.

If your chosen color is a deep red, yellow, or anyother vibrant color. We may also recomend using a special paint that is made to specifically be used for that color. Dulux offers a very high quality paint for this purpose called Accents. This product reduces the amount of coats required to fully cover.

Commonly with surfaces that previously had designs or other special features (like the green wall with circles shown above) there are unwanted textures. This is the result of hand drawn images, extra layers of paint, stencils, etc.

Stydent Works Painting will ensure the surface is smooth prior to changing the color of your walls. Failure to do so will allow the texture to be seen through the new paint. We will lightly sand the surface and fill indents as required until it is perfectly smooth.

Extremely textured or indented areas may require re-drywalling. This will be pointed out during an estimate.

OUTCOME

Previous color will be completely covered with the desired color as a top coat.

Previous color will be completely covered with no chance of it "bleeding" through and the desired color will be the top coat.

Any unwanted textures will be removed and the top coat will be smooth both "to the touch" and visibly.
